We have been staying in Te Anau, a pretty little town in the northern part of 'Southland' as this area is described. The town is built on the shores of yet another lovely lake, Lake Te Anau. Here are some photos DH took...

DH took this photo because when we were growing up, the Four Square small supermarket stores were quite popular in Australia |

How serene is this... |

This lake is just outside the town of Te Anau |
We are staying at a quaint B & B Hotel called Shakespeare House.with all the rooms named after either a Shakespearian play of a character from a play. DH and I stayed in 'Katherine' and my BIL and SIL stayed in 'Henry v'. It is run by a family and they have been very welcoming. We had a beautifully cooked breakfast prepared for us this morning, while we sat and sipped some tea. The interent connection is free and has no limit! My only gripe is that the water in the shower and basin doesn't get very hot and we've hit some very cold weather since coming here. Brrr.
In my next post I'll share the photos that we took on our trip to Milford Sound.
