Last Wednesday...

Last Wednesday I stitched most of the day. I wanted to finish the projects that I had been making for an Instagram Christmas in July Swap. Posting date wasn't until July 13 but I wanted to be early for once...

By late Wednesday afternoon the gifts were wrapped. Still 'smarting' 2 years later from paying $27 for postage of 2 mug rugs being sent to a North American address, I kept the parcel as flat as possible. One of the workers at our little local post office had recently told me the 'flat' trick. I had rolled those mug rugs and put them in a tiny post bag...they made a  thick parcel...so expensive postage!

So now a little look at what I sent...

Some Christmas iron on labels

Some novelty buttons and some stickers...

A cushion cover...

I didn't do that machine embroidery...a lady on Etsy who embroiders this design on towels, was quite happy to embroider on a piece of homespun instead. I think you may have guessed that the recipient rather likes horses????

And a hexie table centre... The darker green hexies feature little rocking horses! Lol

Still last Wednesday...

On Wednesday night, DH went to the State of Origin Match #3 ( a rugby league match with Queensland vs New South Wales) with DsD2. The ticket had been his birthday present from all the girls and 2 partners. He wore his last year's Christmas gift from DSD2 and her husband...

He had a wonderful time...all the atmosphere and a very exciting game which saw Qld the winner 52-6!!!

And I had a lovely quiet night at home :-)

Christmas in July...

Well the day dawned...July 25... and the day we could open our parcels from our swap buddy in the Christmas in July Swap. And wasn't I spoiled!!! Thank you so much Peg!

Some of the parcels were wrapped in this paper...don't you just love this Santa Bear???

Most of the family are coming over for dinner tonight...I don't think these will last very long! lol

Now the items I made in this swap were for Vickie... and these are what I sent her...

My turn to tease...

I've noticed of late that some of my fellow bloggers have been posting photos that are quite intriguing...in some cases these photos are close ups of objects but you can't really work out what it is a photo of :-/ Other photos are just 'bits' of an object which tantalise the reader who wonders just what the object is.
Yep! all this means that there has been lots of secret crafting going on and that means 'swaps'! And that also means that mailing dates are getting closer. So it's my turn to intrigue, confuse, tantalise and cause some wondering...

Red , green and white...hmmm...could be something Christmassy perhaps???? Maybe 'Christmas in July' ???

This time I remembered to take proper photos as well as these sneak peek ones...unlike one swap last year where I forgot to do that!

Last week I wrote a post which included photos of our little break down on the Gold Coast at Jupiters. Now at breakfast on Thursday morning we saw the most wonderful 'confectionery construction' in the restaurant, Food Fantasy. I didn't take my camera or phone to breakfast so DH took photos with his phone. And I forgot that we had photos on DH's phone when I wrote that post last week. So I will finish this post with some photos where you get more than just a glimpse of something.

The signs described it as a 'chocolate/gingerbread Fantasy land' and it certainly was that! lol
