Tuesday's treasures...

For the first time I'm joining in with Melody  who runs this feature. I've just spent a few hours with my niece, her husband and their 2 beautiful children. I certainly view this family as treasures. It is a small miracle that I even know my niece. Her father, my brother, was adopted out when he was 10 days old and he didn't find his biological family until he was 43. I was 48 and had had a lonely childhood as an 'only child'. Not only did I find out I had a brother, I had a new SIL and a niece and 3 nephews....what a time it was! I wrote about that time in a post here...
So here are some of my family treasures...

My niece is opening the pile of presents that we took up...(can't help myself!) and I'm in 7th heaven cuddling  the new baby, Maximo

Lucy rather likes the musical toy that we gave to Max...

here's Max having a nap...

Lucy giving DH a big smile for the camera.
And the other night I scanned 2 older photos of my DDs...another 2 of my treasures. I love looking at photos of them when they were little...it was a special time that I really treasured.

DD2 aged about 8, cuddling her Nanna's cat. This photo was taken in my MIL's kitchen...she  died  just over 8 years ago and the house was sold. So it's rather poignant to see her kitchen.

DD1, aged 2, with our cat in her toy pram...
Why not use the link in the first sentence of the post to visit Melody and use her links to others' Tuesday Treasures.

And that is the reason we keep in contact with our adopted daughters natural parents and with our foster children's biological family. Roots are so important especially as you get older.

I agree with you that family are the greatest treasures we have. Thanks for sharing.

They certainly are Lynn! My brother felt complete after he found mum even though he had a wonderful adoptive family who strived to give him the best jopportunities.

Family certainly is the greatest treasures that we have - alongside our health. It is really coming to the fore yet again with all the fires across NSW at the moment - I have 2 sons and a sister who are near fires (3 different parts of the state)- 1 has evacuated, another is on fire fighting alert and evacuation alert and the third is very firtunately able to breathe easy tonight. i don't know how i would cope if I lost any of them. Your photos are a True Tuesday Treasure!!!

Your family treasurer's are lovely, and your dd1 is gorgeous. I look back on photos of my kids as babies and littlies, and wonder where the years went. Are you still living in the same house the photo was taken in?

I can certainly relate! Having not found my family until I was in my late 30s Just started my 50s now, it was so worth the while of searching them out. We do live half a world away but thanks to the internet and facebook etc, they can keep in touch. Thanks for sharing.
