Makes you wonder...

I just had to take this photo of an aisle in our local Coles supermarket. It struck me that a visitor to our country could assume that our water supply is unsafe to drink...it must harbour such nasties as are seen in Third World countries, they might suspect. Might I add that this supermarket is quite a small one compared to others in Brisbane. So probably in larger stores, the bottles of water fill a whole aisle!

The other day I recalled an advertisement that Coles had had in the daily newspaper a few years ago. I felt so incensed that I wrote scathingly about it on my Facebook page...and it still raises my ire...It's the use of the term 'quality food' on a page showing junk food. But maybe I'm just being pedantic.

And now...
There have been warnings in the media tonight of extremely dangerous fire conditions throughout Australia tomorrow. Hopefully we won't see anywhere in Australia a repeat of the terrible destruction as witnessed in Tasmania in recent days.
Deb who organised the Photographic Scavenger Hunts that I participated in last year has a house in the Peninsula region of Tasmania   and was directly affected by the fires. Read her very moving blog posts about the events of those 2 days. Deb also has included photos; a real first-hand report. Like most Aussies I am waiting to hear what is the best form of help to send to Tasmania.

I can't understand the bottled water thing either. Recently at a dance concert I needed to purchase some water from the bar. Can you believe it cost $4 for a 250ml bottle! I will definitely make sure everyone has there stainless steel bottles with them when we venture out.

Couldn't agree more Maria about that bottled water. I too am off to Deb's blog. I took part in her photographic scavenger hunt a while back, sorry to hear that she has been affected by those terrible fires in Tasmania.

I always take my own water to the movies as they charge over $5 for a bottle there, Chocolate is an essential food item isnt it, (sorry just being silly).

Maria I totally agree about the water. I do find myself wondering what the heck is going on, when I see people with cartons of bottled water filling a trolley. And I'm sure that these same people complain about the cost of living!! What?!
