Sunday night dinner...

Last Sunday, as 'Chookyblue' was in town, a group of local bloggers met for dinner at Kedron Wavell Services Club. It was a lovely evening of chatting over a leisurely dinner, lots of laughter and of course some seeing some beautiful items in the customary 'Show and Tell' session.
Cath, Cheryl, Susan, Chookyblue, Marilyn, De, Lynda

Some yummy desserts were available but I was really impressed as there was cheese and crackers and a platter of fresh fruit slices available too. So often I have no choice if I choose not to have dessert :-)

Marilyn showed her SAL quilt...

De's lovely bag...

And De's Bon Noel wallhanging...

At 9pm, one of the staff of the Coral Sea restaurant suggested that we might like to make our way downstairs to the HQ cafe which would be open until 10pm...what a polite way to tell us that they were closing up for the night! lol One of the staff took this photo of us in the cafe...Cath had already gone when this photo was taken...

I didn't have any Show and Tell but I'll finish this post with a photo of a scarf that I knitted while I was in NZ.  I blocked it last week and then posted it as a surprise to someone whom I thinks deserves a nice surprise in the mail...it's prettier in 'real life' though! lol

Being blocked...

Closer view but colour is not 'true'...

Lovely scarf Maria! And well done on avoiding the desserts. Just wanted to thankyou for your no sugar post. Since reading about your achievements with no sugar I was inspired to do the same and since February this year I have lost 11 kilos. I find it easy now to say now to sugary things as the cravings for something sweet has gone!
Looks like you all had a wonderful night!

Hi Maria,I was on my way out to visit me sister in law, after she has had knee replacement surgery. I called in to pick up my mail from the PO this morning and there was a parcel waiting for me. Of course I just had to open it there and then and found this absolutely beautiful scarf. Thank you my dear friend, for being so very thoughtful. You have made me feel very special. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love it. The picture doesn't do it justice. I will blog about it tomorrow as I have some pictures to download first. You are an amazing lady. Hugs Sue xox

Lovely to see all the beautiful craft work produced. I agree how nice it is to have a fruit platter or such as an alternative dessert. That way everyone is catered for.
That was such a lovely act of friendship making that pretty scarf for Sue... every time she wears it, it will bring a smile for her.
