Sunday night dinner...

Last Sunday, as 'Chookyblue' was in town, a group of local bloggers met for dinner at Kedron Wavell Services Club. It was a lovely evening of chatting over a leisurely dinner, lots of laughter and of course some seeing some beautiful items in the customary 'Show and Tell' session.
Cath, Cheryl, Susan, Chookyblue, Marilyn, De, Lynda

Some yummy desserts were available but I was really impressed as there was cheese and crackers and a platter of fresh fruit slices available too. So often I have no choice if I choose not to have dessert :-)

At 9pm, one of the staff of the Coral Sea restaurant suggested that we might like to make our way downstairs to the HQ cafe which would be open until 10pm...what a polite way to tell us that they were closing up for the night! lol One of the staff took this photo of us in the cafe...Cath had already gone when this photo was taken...

I didn't have any Show and Tell but I'll finish this post with a photo of a scarf that I knitted while I was in NZ.  I blocked it last week and then posted it as a surprise to someone whom I thinks deserves a nice surprise in the mail...it's prettier in 'real life' though! lol

Being blocked...

Closer view but colour is not 'true'...

Out and about...again!

Yep, I'm still being what my mother would have described as, 'being a dirty stop out'! lol   So...
Sunday I was privileged to be able to join a number of fellow bloggers at a blog meet. Kayly (aka Cheryl) and I got a lift with Lynda.  The venue was the very quaint Wishing Well Cafe at Victoria Point. The sign outside explained that the premises had had a number of uses, including a brothel! But that was a long time ago apparently! :-)

A large table in the courtyard had been booked for our group and the wonderful staff had decorated the table especially for us!

Peg and Dale, the patchwork chickens on the left, came with Lynda, but the rest of the table decorations were provided by the staff...
We had started with a morning tea cuppa, then later we ordered lunch and later on in the day, it was time to have afternoon tea. All food and beverages were delicious and the food was beautifully presented and home cooked style. I was just so impressed with the quality. Now between cuppas and food, there was a lot of stitching going on, except from me...I crocheted :-) There was also some 'Show and Tell' and there were some beautiful things to admire. Unfortunately, I was so intent on looking at these beautiful items, I forgot to take pics of all of them...so only have some photos to show...

Here's Marilyn showing her magnificent wall hanging...

This is a bit more of a close up...how beautiful is that!
Cheryl, Deb, Dee and Maree enjoying the Show and tell session...

Here's another quilt...

Noela showing one of her beautiful journal covers...
Just had to take this photo showing china oddments on hooks ...this tree (and other ones too) are growing through the roof...the roofing material has been cut to fit around the trunk!

Here's the wishing well...and as you can see...more trees growing through the roof! lol
One of the lovely young waiters (I'm old-fashioned...it was a waitress actually!!!) offered to take a group photo
Susan, Cheryl, Deb, De, Maree, Marilyn, Noela, Lynda, Moi (and Alison wasn't there at that time)
Any readers who live anywhere near Victoria Point, I highly recommend this cafe...I've already told DH we're coming back for lunch one day soon :-) !
