Our Ireland Tour; the village of Adare

Early one morning our tour went to visit the village of Adare just to see the quaint thatched cottages.

I loved the gardens too of course!

How quaint is that water pump?

Some of the cottages had been turned into shops...being early, the shops weren’t open.

Which is just as well as I might have had to buy that cardi on the left 🤔🤣

Although the price of such a beautiful garment would have ‘melted my credit card’ I suspect. Of course there was no price tag visible in the shop window.

Our tour guide had mentioned that one of the cottages had burned down a while before and there had been a big delay in rebuilding. One can just imagine that a new build would have to comply with so many building and heritage regulations. Thatching is very expensive these days as the limited number of craftsmen still left can charge what ever they like. And thatch is a fire hazard too of course.

And the lovely stone church across the road from the cottages.

A picturesque village indeed. 😍

Lovely! I would be sticky-beaking into all the gardens.

You might just have to make yourself a cardi like that one. You've probably got some wool in those colours...

What a beautiful tour you took us on. The thatched roofs and gardens were a delight. I loved the cardi too, I would have loved to know the price.
