Mothers Day

Last week I thought it was time to finally put away all the Easter decorations. It’s a bit early for a Winter display but then I thought...Mothers Day!
So it was time to get out the mini quilt that I had received in a Mothers Day Mini Swap a few years ago.  And that’s my mum in the photo.

And then I thought I’d bring out some of the floral patterned china that was packed away in cupboards...most of these items have been gifts over the years.

I love hydrangeas and family and friends have given me lots of lovely items with those flowers on them

Years ago I fell in love with this pattern and saved up to buy this plate...

My daughters have given me 4 Mum mugs over the years 😍

And there is DH’s mum! I usually like to buy a bunch of chrysanthemums around Mothers Day as my mum loved them. Because I was going to be away for 5 days, instead I got a potted flowering plant instead.

Hope all mothers had a lovely day today and received lots of attention and spoiling from their offspring 😍

Is this finally goodbye to the Wesley Hospital , then??

My mother used this saying a lot...'Don't speak too soon!' But here's hoping :-)
Yesterday (Tuesday) DH came home from hospital after his unexpected re admission last Friday night. All seems to be going well and there is only discomfort around the op site, rather than severe pain.
On all those visits I made to this hospital, I really enjoyed the art works on the walls of the walkways.
This one was my favourite painting...( silly me didn't go up close to read the artist's signature)
Heading to the East Wing where DH was staying, was this beautiful stain glass window...loved it!

On the walkway that linked Reception to the carpark was this quilt...my favourite colour no less.

That carpark had wonderful views...this is from the 6th level. The Taylor Range is in the background and the TV towers of Mt Cootha.

Waiting waiting waiting...DH can come home!

I've previously posted photos of the view of the river from DH's room. Well yesterday, while we waited for the final paperwork, ready for me to take DH home, DH suddenly commented...'There's a duck!'
I expected to see a little brown duck, but...no...it was a rather large yellow duck! On a barge no less! :-)
Another view of that old house, Moorlands, from DH's room...( his second time in this ward, he had Room 12 which had a different aspect from his previous room)

Now DH may have been the one who was in hospital but I bought some flowers for me, not him! Lol

So DH is now home and I'm making him rest!!

A few things have changed here at my place...

Firstly, our little house guest Jimmy went back home with my DD2 last Sunday. DD2 dressed Jimmy in a new shirt and collar that she bought in Thailand...

I'm afraid that I shed a few tears as she drove off down the street and then later on in the evening I really missed him sitting beside me on the couch...Now DH had said before Jimmy came to stay, that the the dog was not allowed on the couch... hmmmm....one cheeky and very cute dog!

Jimmy and Eduardo became good friends and Eduardo misses his playmate too!

Jimmy was supposed to have a bone each day...but most days he just played with it and didn't eat it...so...
The butcher birds would come and peck at the bone when Jimmy had left it...they must miss Jimmy also now! lol

So I thought a good activity on Monday to cheer me up would be to pack away the Easter items in the hutch and change the display...which I did!

I had a lovely round box on a shelf in my sewing room which was ideal to put all those items in...my friend gave me this box full of presents for my 60th...she knows what my favourite flower is..

And it just so happens that the new hutch display is all my bits and pieces of Hydrangea items...Again, family and friends have given me items over the years and it's amazing to gather it all together and see the variety.
Ta dah!
