'Squared Away'; definition... arranged or properly taken care of

Well maybe not the true meaning of that idiom in the the subject line but my bags of donated squares have certainly been getting some attention this last few weeks or so and have been 'properly taken care of'. Remember last FNSI when I showed a photo of a bag of orange/yellow squares that were awaiting 'my attention'?...

Well, since then I have made this blanket for K4BN...

Glenda from SoS who made these squares for K4BN, made more than was needed for one rug and I had 5 squares left over...

For a number of months I have been working off and on (mainly at Knit and Natters) on some squares in browns...originally I had been given 6 crocheted squares in cream and black by another lady at SoS. Unfortunately these 6 squares did not 'sit flat' so I had decided to crochet some more rounds, adjusting the number of trebles (DC in US terms) in each cluster as necessary to gradually get the squares to sit  flat. I used browns and cream yarns given to me by a friend and some black yarn...then I continued to make more squares in a similar colour scheme

One FNSI late last year, I spent the evening crocheting those brown/beige/cream black squares...

When I had the 5 orange/yellow squares left over I got the idea to use them with the browns.creams. I had to crochet a few more squares and extend some others...

I had a total of 12 of those brown crocheted squares...here Eduardo is doing a quality control inspection of my work...well I had left them on the coffee table which he often mistakes for his bed :-)
Finally I had enough squares to start joining them together...

So now I have yet another blanket to hand in.
I think that if I am 'in the mood' to join squares, I really get 'on a roll' with all the joining. I now have 6 blankets made of donated crocheted squares to hand in plus one made of odd knitted squares which I'm still working on...I'm crocheting around the edge of this 7th one at the moment so not long to go until it's finished...and the small bedroom where I stored the bags of squares is starting to look a bit empty :-) which is good! lol

Beautiful! And I so agree, you have to be in the mood to sew them together.

You have a good 'eye' for the colours and getting the mix just right, these blankets are beautiful and will give someone a real lift in the cold of winter.
