A bit of this and that...

As well as finishing off items for the various swaps that I had signed up for, I've been 'flitting' around as per usual :-)
DH and I tried out a local coffee shop that I've been wanting to try for a while because I love the clever name!

And we weren't disappointed!
A French theme here in suburban Mc Dowall...

These looked rather swish!
And DH certainly enjoyed his chocolate muffin and mug of flat white; as I did my cappuccino...

Then last week, I made a return visit to Gallery B at Newmarket which has a lovely little coffee shop at the back of the Newmarket Hardware. This time I joined a fellow blogger, Jean for a morning coffee.

Jean with her lovely smile, and in the background, some of the Artworks for sale at Gallery B

Jean and I both admired the beautiful china used by the cafe and we both loved this sugar bowl with its curved spoon...

Then just the other day, DH and I stopped at the coffee shop in our local shopping centre, before we tackled the grocery shopping...

While we were waiting for our coffees, it became obvious that I had left the shopping list at home...shopping without a list can be 'lethal'! So....

While we drank our coffees, I started to rewrite the list from memory...as it turns out I only forgot 1 item...some AA batteries for a toy I had bought our great nephew...so the 'old brain' is still working fairly well even though I forgot to take the list! lol

I missed out on the Sisters of Stitch Christmas party last Wednesday as DH and I had tickets to the matinee show at  QPAC, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

It was a very enjoyable show; everything about it was great. We left the theatre with that uplifted feeling you get when you've seen a fun show with excellent acting, singing, staging and a happy ending!
And I took this photo out of the window near the Door where we were to enter the theatre. It's looking out over the river towards the city.

And one last photo of something completely unrelated...I was stopped at the lights today on Musgrave Rd, Red Hill and was behind this learner driver...in a porsche!

I guess, if it's the only car the family has? And you have to get those logged hours of driving done...?
It just piqued my interest and the incongruity of it.

News Flash: Operation Postponed!

After several days of psyching myself up for this surgery, my doctor rang at 5.30am and said to delay going to the hospital until I got a another call from her. That call came over an hour later and the message was 'Sorry not today'. Dr Cheung had had to perform an emergency caesarean  which meant she was running 1 1/2 hours late. So, being third on her list, and a longer op, I got 'bumped'. I certainly hope the mum and baby in the emergency are all fine but it's still a bit disappointing. What can we do to 'turn this around'?
So DH and I went out for breakfast...
One cappuccino

Halfway through my delicious Eggs Benedict, with DH's omelette in the background almost all eaten up too

Thank you all for the lovely messages of support and all those positive thoughts and prayers. All being well, my operation should be rescheduled for a fortnight from today.
And now because of the postponement, DH will be able to go and play in the Tournament on the Sunshine Coast next week. He had cancelled because of the surgery but he's found that there are still vacancies. So it looks like I'll be up on the Sunshine Coast next week too :-)
