The last few snippets about being in Brunswick Heads....

We've been home a few days now but I thought that I would just share some more of the photos.

These were the scenes which greeted us each morning...the river is like a mill pond at that time of day...

This time looking upstream from our cabin...

Some of the campers hoping to 'catch some breakfast' :-)
While DH and his friends played golf, my friend and I chatted and worked on craft projects...I worked on a throw with yarns that had been donated to K4BN and also stitched hexies. Mary learned a new craft...tapestery.

I had shown Mary how to do a basic tapestry stitch on Thursday  and from then she was  'hooked' !  This is a little wallhanging of a colourful bird which will go into the bedroom where the grandchildren sleep when they stay.

I took this photo today but it shows the throw that I worked on while we were away...
Our constant companion each day was Charleigh the dog... (I spelled her name wrongly in a former post)

My friends had brought their coffee machine so I was spoiled having cappuccinos made for me...

On Thursday and Friday we had a delicious cooked lunch...

On the last night all the golfers have dinner together at the Brunswick Heads Hotel which is in the township. DH took me as well but I was the only wife there... but my meal was delicious even if conversation was sparse...lol

The Brunswick Heads Hotel...

I noticed this sign across the road from the pub... seems like another community worried about the extraction of CSG

Another view of that old bridge...
On Friday morning DH had left for the day's golf very very early. Before he left he put heavy items into the car and then I finished packing the car later. So when he finished the competition we were ready to head back home. We had one stop on the way home, at Tweed Heads South. My SIL had told me about this big store there called Fantazia. I browsed around the 2 shops that make up the store, buying a few haberdashery items, including the cute gold tassel that I put on my hexie ornament. There were 4 in the packet and I have a feeling all will be used quite soon :-)
Had to take 2 photos to get the  facade in! It is huge!!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed re-visiting Brunswick Heads via your blog Maria. That old bridge is the one across to the surf isn't it? I used to spend hours in the water on the surf side of that bridge when I was a child. Also, last time we were in Brunswick, we stopped off to have lunch at the old hotel. I desperately wanted the taste of whiting like my dad used to catch years ago, but unfortunately the fish that day was pretty ordinary. Glad you enjoyed your trip and how about those coffees !!!! xoxox

Funny to see "the places I go" and take for granted here in living colour. Your travelogue did the area proud Maria.
