Exploring...Mullumbimby and Byron Bay...

On Tuesday afternoon we drove from Brunswick Heads to Mullumbimby for lunch. We drove through beautiful countryside

Here are some photos of Mullumbimby....

Just had to take a photo of this flame tree in the town...
Then we headed off towards Byron Bay....

The sea in the distance...

DH wanted a photo of the station in Byron Bay; it was too glarey to take the photo of the front, so we went around to the platform....

As you can see, trains haven't run here for quite a while...

Below is that beautiful vista of Byron Bay from Cape Byron...

And of course, that famous lighthouse....

Unfortunately blogger, laptop, internet connection  and I aren't getting on too well at the moment so I will admit defeat and leave this post now as it is :-(

I've enjoyed seeing these pics. Brought back fond memories. As a child, we used to spend 6 weeks every year at Brunswick Heads and I know the area well. My father taught me how to ride a bike between Mullumbimby and Brunswick - it was quite histerical thinking back .... I could ride ok after awhile but it took me ages to learn how to stop. If dad wasn't around to catch me, I'd have to drive into a fence ! The roads were very quiet then - much different now. Been up in that lighthouse - it was very scary looking down at dozens of sharks swimming around underneath it. You're certainly getting around alot up there. Enjoy. xoxox

You've been lucky to spend some time in one of the most beautiful parts of Oz.

I was doing food shopping today, in Murwillumbah, just up the road from Bruns, and the man who got out of the car next to me commented on how much hotter it was here then in Brunswick, "where we've been staying in a cabin" As his wife appeared...an attractive senior woman... I was cheeky, and asked "are you Maria"? and explained why I was asking. It wasn't you of course, but fun if it had been.

I once had a pen pal that lived in Byron Bay. It's beautiful there. So glad you were able to visit there and share pictures.
