The weather has been cold and also raining this week, but today the sun shone and it was lovely and warm. It was perfect and we were so pleased for DsD2. It was a lovely wedding and the wedding celebrant did an exceptional job...some lovely touches that just made it so special...
| My SIL and I treated ourselves to a hairdresser appointment...and then we got ready far too early so fooled around getting our photo taken! lol |
| Here's DH in his white shirt bought especially for the wedding...the bridegroom had the special tie that all the males in the bridal party wore. |
The wedding was held about 10 minutes drive from Wanaka at
Lookout Lodge. It has beautiful views and lives up to its name.
| There was a marquee with sofas and stools (and heaters) where some people relaxed before the ceremony |
There were 90 guests at the wedding...many were Aussies who had flown over especially.
| Here's a groomsman known as 'Turtle' helping DH with his tie... |
| The ceremony has started and the bridesmaids start to walk down the grassy aisle. The lady in pale blue is the mother of the bride... |
| The first bridesmaid to walk down is my darling step daughter Nikki (the baby) |
And here are 2 more...altogether there were 5 bridesmaids!
And now here is my DH, as proud as punch, escorting his daughter down the aisle...
In the next photo the bride's mother is reading out her blessing...
Later in the ceremony, the mother of the bridegroom read out a blessing as well...
| The necklace that I'm wearing was given to my mother by my father over 60 years ago... |
| A tender moment between father and youngest daughter |
| DH gives his speech... |
| The bridegroom gets a fit of the giggles when his brother recounts childhood mischiefs and misadventures in his speech. lol |
