Just over a week ago our #4 granddaughter had an appointment at the large children's hospital here in Brisbane, the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital. Her mum and dad had driven the 7 hours to Brisbane the day before and expected to drive home after Tuesday's appointment. But that wasn't to be; A was admitted for observation and tests. You see she had been born with health problems and in her first 2 months, she wasn't as well as she could be.
Testing continues and it looks like she will stay in hospital until at least the end of next week. Then, rather than going home to the property, she will be transferred to a regional hospital in Toowoomba which will mean she will be a bit closer to home. It is still a 'long road' but at least the rigorous testing over these 2 weeks, will give the young parents some answers and the direction that treatments will move in. Because little A has chronic health issues, she has been given a quilt from Project Linus. ( this is a worldwide group that makes and distributes quilts to all children who are forced to spend time in hospital on an ongoing basis.)

I do hope they get positive news.What a worry for all the family.What a lovely idea to give a quilt.I have donated quite a lot of crocheted blankets to charity.
So sorry to read about your little granddaughter Maria - I hope that they are able to find some treatment that suits her. How lovely to receive a Project Linus quilt though, such a worthwhile cause. xx
Maria, what a concern for you all. I do hope she improves soon. Being closer to the hospital here would be better but it would still be a but if a hike for her parents. I love the quilt.

How nice to receive the sweet quilt from the Linus foundation.
I hope the doctors find out what the problem is and how to solve it in the least invasive way possible. Poor little thing being away from home is so frightening for the tiny ones.

What a worry for everyone in the family! Best wishes for her treatment and recovery. It is wonderful that we live in a time when such amazing medical knowledge and technology is available. In previous centuries so many babies and children died for unknown reasons, but now there is so much that medical science can do.
That is a really cute some generous soul has made.

My heart goes out to the little one and her family and I hope they are getting the best care that will improve her health. What a sweet blanket and nice people to provide them. Thoughtfulness like that can make a very bright spot in a stressful time like they are going through.
I'll keep your Granddaughter in my prayers. Hopefully the docs will find out nothing serious is going on. It's so nice that she was given a Linus Quilt. You are the first blog friend that I know of who has someone that actually received one. There are so many wonderful quilters that make the Linus Project possible.

I'm very sorry to hear about your new granddaughter's health issues, Maria. It must be a very worrying time for you all. I hope the tests help to find the best treatments for her and that she will be better soon. I shall keep all of you in my thoughts. In the meantime, the quilt is lovely :)
