Sunday Stitchers June Meet...

Last Sunday this group gathered at Ormeau for a day of fun, food and friendship juxtaposed with stitching and we also raised money for Breast Cancer Research. Everyone brought 'pink food' for our buffet table and money was raised by a raffle, guessing competition and sale of mugs.

I decided that sweet foods would be very popular, so I prepared some savoury items that were pink ish :-) Some philly cheese and smoked salmon bread rounds...and I also made up a platter with beetroot dip, salmon and avocado dip and some rolled up mild salami slices.
As I predicted though, the table was groaning with sweet delights from some creative people...

The centerpiece was the magnificent cake made by Maree...in the shape of the pink ribbon, the symbol of Breast Cancer...

Just one birthday girl this month, Cheryl. Here she is unwrapping all her fat quarters...

Some of the Show and Tell...

And the message on the whiteboard in the meeting room made us smile...

I worked on 3 projects...long hexies in Christmas fabrics...

A few petals of a redwork stitching project...

And some more work on the 'art show' throw...colours are brighter than photo shows :-(

Another lovely day out with friends!
I dressed in pink but the day turned out to be quite warm so hat and jacket were soon discarded :-)

Good idea to take some pink savouries! I would have wanted some savoury tastes to break up the sweetness.

Love your pink outfit!
