I've read somewhere that the discovery of these paintings really 'sealed the deal' that this area would be designated a National Park. The paintings were really spectacular!

ReplyDeleteReading you trip posts has been bringing back memories of a similar one we did in 1992 - We visted the same places only difference was the Ghan only went as far as Alice. Taking the car on the back of the train meant we could drive on up to Darwin and then very slowly over a few weeks drive ourselves home
