Earlier in the month I went to some craft markets at a local Baptist Church, and sure enough there were some trees just inside the front door...
During Advent parishioners are bringing in donations of non perishable food and these are put under the tree. There are cardboard baubles which are placed on the tree when people donate cash too. The stuffed animal toys are leftover from the Nativity service for the Mainly Music children last week.
Now that brings me to my place and my tree. DH set the tree up last week but it stood undecorated...very sad! Lol.
Then DD1 and her boyfriend came to lunch yesterday and after lunch the two of them helped me get the Christmas 'stuff' out of the various cupboards where they are stored...
And once they got all the boxes down from the high cupboards, it took the two of them about 20 minutes to get that tree decorated...
It does help when others are ready to pitch in and decorate...Has Eduardo tried to climb it yet??
ReplyDeleteIt's nice you had expert help! Twenty minutes must be a record, and it looks great. Now, will they be back to take it down and put it all away? That's the part I don't like!
ReplyDeleteI'm not having a tree this year. We have had a real tree every year since we married. But with my not being well and hubby's op we just couldn't do it. Maybe next year when the little one will be here And yes it's much easier with help
ReplyDeleteyour family did a great job on the tree Maria, it looks great
ReplyDeleteChristmas trees are definitely a thing in our household. I always had one as a kid, hubby didn't but I wasn't going to go without one once we were married :) Yours looks great.

tree looks lovely, afraid I do not bother with one these days. When married had a real one in a pot with roots that lived in the garden during the year and came in every Christmas, finally got too big and was planted in the garden.Since I have been on my own have not had one
ReplyDeleteI didn't bother putting up the tree for a few years. But I got it out last year and my son enjoyed putting on all the decorations he remembered from childhood. That reminded me that the tree is a lovely bit of continuity from year to year. So this year I put it up again.
