By late Wednesday afternoon the gifts were wrapped. Still 'smarting' 2 years later from paying $27 for postage of 2 mug rugs being sent to a North American address, I kept the parcel as flat as possible. One of the workers at our little local post office had recently told me the 'flat' trick. I had rolled those mug rugs and put them in a tiny post bag...they made a thick parcel...so expensive postage!
So now a little look at what I sent...
Some Christmas iron on labels
I didn't do that machine embroidery...a lady on Etsy who embroiders this design on towels, was quite happy to embroider on a piece of homespun instead. I think you may have guessed that the recipient rather likes horses????
And a hexie table centre... The darker green hexies feature little rocking horses! Lol
On Wednesday night, DH went to the State of Origin Match #3 ( a rugby league match with Queensland vs New South Wales) with DsD2. The ticket had been his birthday present from all the girls and 2 partners. He wore his last year's Christmas gift from DSD2 and her husband...He had a wonderful time...all the atmosphere and a very exciting game which saw Qld the winner 52-6!!!
love your Christmas in July and specially the hexies table center, got some idea I could do. take care Jaana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gifts- hexie mat is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful parcel of gifts for your swap partner.
ReplyDeleteFabulous gift for hubby. Especially because his team won.
Lovely Christmas gifts Maria. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts for your house loving IG mate - great idea to get that embroidered.
ReplyDeleteNo comment about the football...but always nice to get the house to yourself and if your DH is like mine there is a lot of noise telling the referee how to do his job.
Yay, go Queensland!! Oops, sorry but I have 2 sisters, a brother and their families in Queensland and they would have watched as well. Somehow I missed the game this year.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas gift swaps are lovely, some lucky person is going to be very happy opening that parcel :)
Diana

ReplyDeleteYour horses and hexies turned out beautifully...wonderful gifts.
ReplyDeleteGreat gifts for a horse-lover Maria... I usually don't follow NRL, but I do love to watch the State Of Origin... & I always go for Qld, even though I have no particular reason why!
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts Maria. Well done sorting out the postage...it is such a joy squasher! Lucky hubby watching our boys runaway win x
