I've been looking through the boxes of photos again, looking for photos of my in laws from my first marriage. Haven't found that bundle of pics yet, but found some others, like this one.
This photo evokes bitter-sweet feelings; the big sister is holding the hand of her little sister. But that was a long time ago now...
You see, one of the most difficult things for me to come to terms with as a mother, is the fact that my children no longer talk to each other...Mothers' Day is a nightmare, as are all the other traditional celebrations throughout the year. Sometimes, one of them will not 'talk' to me either...and I hate that. I start to question whether it's 'my fault'; could I have done things differently? But I know the answer...all I can do is keep those lines of communication open.
Hugs...Life is tough at times.
ReplyDeletehow sad, it seems families are not as close anymore, hopefully one day they will want to be close once more and you can be a family again. I am one of 5 and we rarely see each other, my sister lives in Melbourne and I have more contact with her than the 3 brothers who are all here in the UK. I do email and they occassionally email back well 2 of them do
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, Maria! Life can be hard that way sometimes.

Families can be so difficult some times can't they...my sister doesn't talk to me or my mother...many years of issues blown out of proportion ...well done for keeping the lines of communication open, not an easy task.Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet photo and I'm sure it makes you sad to remember when your daughters were close. Even when they are grown being a mother is hard! I hope things will get better between them so family gatherings can be comfortable and fun again.
