Helping out...

My niece was faced with a dilemma...a new job which required attendance at a training course on a day when her younger child was not in Day Care. Luckily I was able to help out, and so it was that Maximo arrived at our place early this morning. What fun we had!
My collection of teddies, mostly bought on our travels, were 'let out of' the plastic crate that they 'live' in, and Max had a lovely time chatting and playing with them.
I had also borrowed some toys from my neighbour's grandson...and these were very popular, especially the Buzz Lightyear that talked, and a tool set...

We did some craft too, but I forgot to take photos of Maximo's pictures.

But I had a wonderful helper getting ready for morning tea...he used the cutter to make the scones...
Max watched the scones cook and marveled at how they got bigger!
We then invited DH to come and join us for morning tea...

Now Eduardo always hides when little people visit but Max never gives up hope that he will get to pat my elusive feline. Eddie always comes for a pat and ear tickle whenever DH or I hang out washing and Max called out 'Puss, Puss, Puss' but Eduardo was having none of it and ran away into the shrubs and wouldn't budge!

We had story time with books borrowed from the Council Library...
We went for a walk up the street to the former dairy farm where the owner fattens  a few head of cattle...and this is 7km from the centre of Brisbane! Maximo loved it and the walk to and from...

We watched a little TV too...
Max was fascinated with my crocheting and even had a try at doing some too...
At 5pm, Max's big sister Lucy and their mum came to collect him...he was a tired little man...but then again, I was a tired great aunt!!

  2. You planned well to keep Maximo busy. I'm sure you were both tired from all that fun! What a little trooper to hike so far on his own.

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful day, Maria. I'm sure you would both have been exhausted by the end of the day.

  5. Aw that was a really great day Maria. I can imagine how much Max enjoyed himself with you.
It's fun having those special days, and it's the simple things that keep them entertained too.
Loved your DH in the backyard hanging out the clothes. Again, it's the simple things in life that create happy feelings.
Had a little chuckle at Eduardo :D)
