'You gotta love him!'

It was DsD2's birthday this week and our son in law worked behind the scenes over the last month, organising the gift. Apparently she had indicated that she would love a Kitchen Aid. Karl secretly sent emails out to the family suggesting that family members 'put in' to help buy this appliance. He 'shopped' around to get the best price and it was purchased in readiness for her birthday dinner last Wednesday night.

Before that though, Karl came around to our place to get us to sign the birthday card. He was to write a message first...he said he had to write something that was a little different and clever. He sat at our outdoor table and pondered on and planned this message. He got an idea and started writing on some scrap paper and eventually he had his message ready to transcribe on to the card...

This is what he wrote...

'When you whisk upon a star

Makes no difference who you are,

Anything your tummy desires

Will come to you.

If your Kitchen Aid is in your dreams

No request is too extreme

When you whisk upon a star

As bakers do'...(with apologies to the writer of When you Wish Upon a Star') 

And of course the Birthday Girl loved her gift and has promised lots of yummy dishes for us to enjoy when we visit the young couple.

( unfortunately I missed out on this birthday dinner as I was having a 'sleep over' in the Sleep Study Centre at Greenslopes Hospital)
