We're now in Christchurch...

Our day started at 5.15am with the alarm going off. An hour later we were heading off to my BIL and SIL's house where a maxi taxi had been booked for 6.45. We had decided on the larger vehicle because 4 suitcases take up a lot of room!

After arriving at the airport, time just seem to fly...and after a quick coffee we headed down to the departure area. Being a nice clear day I was able to take photos through the plane window.
Firstly some Brisbane ones...

The tall buildings of the CBD are in the middle of the photo

Then some Gold Coast views...but there was a bit too much glare...

I love those air maps that are available on the plane and regularly check out 'where we are'.

We still had a long way to go at this stage!

As we flew over the South Island of New Zealand, we had a great view of the Alps...

Then the scenery changed as we flew over plains with lots of farms...

So tonight we are having dinner at Karl's mother's place and then tomorrow, some serious sightseeing!
The temperature in Christchurch when we landed was a lovely warm 25 degrees (Celcius) but now that local time is 5.30, it has cooled down.
