On Friday, while DH played golf...

...Eduardo and I took it easy as it was quite hot and humid. In fact Eduardo lay around doing absolutely nothing! lol
After breakfast he found a cool spot under the small glass topped table on the veranda...
All stretched out hoping to catch any breeze...
But I guess that patch of floor got too warm so he moved along the veranda a bit...(about a metre and a half)
Obviously after a while he felt the need to move along again another metre towards the end of the veranda where the north east breeze was...

Then after lunch he felt that out in the garden was cooler. So here he is reclining on the old bench seat...

Look this is tiring work...and it's so hot!

If you don't mind, I'd like to go back to snoozing!

Because I had been so busy Thursday morning making salads, baking a large quiche,  preparing a fruit platter and cleaning the bathroom ready for our lunch guests that day, I decided that Friday would be a lazy day...

So some leisurely stitching...I had to weight things down because the breeze which made the day bearable was also blowing fabrics and patchwork pieces along the veranda! I completed quite a bit of the cushion front but have to cut 3 more hexies to finish it...

But even I who knit just about all year round, couldn't face my current project over the past few days! lol But I must share with you the yarn that I'm currently using... I bought it in York (UK) on our visit in 2008. Yep! I've hoarded it all that time. (I bought yarns and fabrics as souvenirs in both UK and Europe)
The phone camera doesn't show the full beauty of the colours in this yarn...

And today I did even less...just read or snoozed...
I'm looking forward to the weather cooling down a bit otherwise I'll have to take my stitching to the library or a local cafe. When I worked part time, on my day off, I would take a basket of marking (tests etc) to one of these places if the weather was particularly hot, as these places have aircon!

  1. I find my litties in the funniest places, trying to keep cool...in the bathroom basin, the front loader washing machine, and on top of the toilet cistern. They have the right idea.
Your wool is very pretty, don't blame you for not wanting to knit though, it is a tad warm. Stay cool.

  4. Love all those photos of your cat Maria - oh the heat, I can feel for him.
Don't blame you having a snooze instead of knitting etc. Much too hot for that. Good idea going out to enjoy some air conditioning.
Beautiful colour of the mohair, can see how lovely and soft it is too :D)
