A bit belatedly, I'm joining in the photographic scavenger hunt over at Deb's blog. Photos are meant to be posted on all the Saturdays in September. However I forgot whose blog the hunt was on but did remember another blogger who had put her name down at the same time. So I sent an email off to Linn yesterday and luckily she had remembered! lol
Now the first Saturday's photo is entitled, 'View from my kitchen window', so here's the pic I finally chose...
My kitchen window overlooks my neighbour's back deck. Between our yards is an old wooden fence and in the right foreground is a bamboo plant that I planted in 2006 to eventually shade the kitchen from the hot western sun...except it has become obvious that it is about 40 cm too far to the north and doesn't block out the sun very effectively.
In the middle ground of the photo is my neighbour's back fence and then the street which is behind our houses. Way in the distance is the range at Keperra.

ReplyDeleteI love the old wooden fences Maria. We used to have wooden fences but then had to change to colour bond and I hate them. The whole backyard now sounds like an amphitheatre as the sounds of the kids playing and 'screaming' resonates off the fencing whereas the wooden ones absorbed the noise!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you got here eventually. This coming Saturday is pics from around your garden. Look forward to seeing those. Write yourself a note. ;-)
ReplyDeletePretty good view and I love how you captured the sun through the bamboo. I noticed in a previous post you had a visit to Ballarat. I was born and bred in Ballarat but have been living on the Mornington Peninsula about an hour out of Melbourne for nearly 30 years now. Looks like you had a great time touring Victoria. I'm part of the photo challenge too so I look forward to visiting you next week too. Cheers
ReplyDeleteIf I took regular pictures fom my kitchen window I wonder if they would all look the same! Maybe I should try and see. Sue
