Another birthday...

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a lovely day. After a leisurely breakfast I drove to a nearby bakery and bought a cake. The day before I had prepared 2 big  dishes of food ready to cook; one was cannelloni and the other was a pasta bake that I make with chicken, bacon, shallots and lots of cheese sauce.  So on Friday that just left the final washing and wiping of the china I'm lending sDD2 and the cleaning of the bathroom and loo.

On Thursday, my friend had written on Facebook....

I am having lunch with Maria tomorrow . It is her birthday . I miss seeing her SO MUCH since she left the school.

So then off I went to lunch with my friend who was also my teaching partner when I first went part time. We had lots of catching up to do especially about what everyone is doing at my former school. We also had some exchanging of gifts to do as it's Lee's birthday on the 19th.

I gave Lee some flowers and some Coffee Club vouchers

Lee gave me colour co-ordinated gifts; purple towels, mauve washers, gorgeous padded coathanger and an amazing purple long handled duster!

After a nice leisurely lunch it was home time again and I wrote lots of thank you messages to my Facebook friends as well as organising tablecloths and plates etc for the evening when the family were coming over. The menu included some pizzas which we were ordering in. The girls had helped in this by giving recommendations of which ones to order. DH and I so rarely order takeaway so we hadn't a clue! lol

Little Jimmy the dog came of course; he's an absolute delight.

My dear family (after hints from DH) bought me Bunnings' (a hardware chain) vouchers. I have enough to buy another raised vegie garden bed which is something I really wanted! But perhaps the best present I got for my birthday was the news that my beloved niece is having another baby, due December 25!!

With both my girls

As well as a hazelnut and chocolate cake we had another delicious dessert brought along by M, my brother's partner. It was a pavlova, with chocolate, caramel and nuts baked in it, then topped with cream and served with baked spiced pears...it was delicious! heh heh
