There was even a plaque commemorating when President deGaulle made a state visit to Ireland to thank the Irish for their help defending France in World War 2.
There was a fast flowing river too...
And part of the bridge was mesh and you could see the river and those rocks beneath you.
In the square there was a man and his pet. We had been told that the man is regularly there...

Another beautiful stop, the mesh walkway was a little scary. I did smile about the man walking his goat not something you would see everyday.
I'm enjoying your Irish tour posts. I've been to quite a few of these places. Did you see the old famine cottages? Amazing that the people had to just leave their homes to fall into ruins. As for the dolphin called Fungi.....Graham Norton (an Irish comedian) once had a lot to say about it. I won't burst any fond bubbles by telling you what he said!
